MBX Biosciences is hiring a Scientist, Peptide Chemistry to join our dynamic research and development team. In this role, you will be instrumental in designing, synthesizing, and characterizing novel peptides to support our drug discovery programs, reporting to the Director of Chemistry.
What You'll Do
- Synthesize peptides and peptide analogs using advanced techniques, such as solid-phase peptide synthesis and solution-phase synthesis.
- Perform purification and characterization of peptides using HPLC, mass spectrometry, and other analytical techniques.
- Contribute to the design and modification of peptides to enhance pharmacological properties, including stability, bioavailability, and target specificity.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including biology, pharmacology, and formulation scientists, to advance peptide candidates.
- Maintain accurate and detailed experimental records and prepare technical reports and presentations.
- Maintain and support a highly organized laboratory, including consumables and reagent ordering and tracking.
- Stay current with the latest advancements in peptide chemistry through literature reviews and participation in scientific conferences.
What We're Looking For
- PhD or MS in Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry, Chemistry, or a related field; or, BS in a related field with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
- Demonstrated strong scientific and leadership skills that drive results.
- Must demonstrate excellent teamwork, attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities.
