MBX Biosciences is seeking a Scientist to join our research team in Carmel, Indiana. You will be a key member of the Research organization, playing a central role in generating high-quality biological data to drive decision-making across our portfolio of innovative peptide therapeutics aimed at transforming the lives of people with endocrine disorders.
What You'll Do
- Support the design, development, and execution of in vitro experiments to generate decision-making data for portfolio programs.
- Serve as an integral member of research project biology teams, recommending options for in vitro assays, generating high-quality data, and reporting results.
- Design, develop, and execute in vitro experiments to assess the potency and efficacy of molecules.
- Utilize biochemical and cell-based assays to assess receptor affinity and potency.
- Maintain cell culture laboratory and equipment, prepare reagents, and order supplies.
- Work with cell lines, proteins, peptides, and nucleic acids.
- Independently perform data analysis and present results at project meetings.
What We're Looking For
- BS or MS degree in Biology, Chemistry, Immunology, Pharmacology, or a related scientific field.
- 2+ years of experience performing biochemical and cell-based experiments in a lab environment.
- Experience in cell cultures and sterile techniques.
- Experience in operating and maintaining a cell culture lab and relevant equipment.
- Strong understanding of in vitro pharmacology and how to design and execute experiments to support drug discovery.
- Demonstrated passion for science with a natural curiosity to ask questions, explore new concepts, and continuously deepen understanding.
- Highly trainable with the ability to quickly learn new techniques, adapt to evolving project needs, and incorporate feedback effectively.
- Excellent teamwork, attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong collaborator with cross-functional teams and external partners.
- Capable of continuous learning, open-minded, curious, highly organized, and detail-oriented.
Nice to Have
- Experience in molecular biology and DNA cloning.
