Roche is hiring a Science Lead - Digital Biomarkers & Remote Patient Management

About the Role

What You'll Do

Shape the future of digital science by leading the development of novel digital outcome measures used in clinical trials and real-world care settings. You will define the strategic direction for digital biomarker initiatives and ensure scientific rigor across projects. Your leadership will be central to advancing how digital endpoints are validated and adopted across research and clinical practice.

Lead a multidisciplinary team of scientists, fostering growth and technical excellence. You will represent scientific expertise within leadership forums and help evolve the organization’s capabilities in digital health. Collaborate across clinical development, regulatory, data science, and patient-centered research teams to align digital biomarker strategies with broader medical goals.

Act as a recognized expert in digital health, contributing to industry-wide efforts to standardize digital endpoints. Engage with regulators and external consortia to build consensus and acceptance. Share findings through peer-reviewed publications and presentations at international conferences, advancing the field while strengthening scientific credibility.

Requirements

  • PhD-level degree in a quantitative natural science or medical field with emphasis on large-scale data analysis
  • Proven track record of high-impact scientific publications
  • Over 10 years of experience in pharmaceutical or related industry, with direct influence on clinical development decisions
  • Demonstrated leadership in large, complex organizations, including team building and scientific mentorship
  • Deep experience designing and interpreting long-term, complex clinical studies
  • Recognized authority in digital health, with established networks in industry and academia
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Ability to navigate fast-moving, ambiguous environments with a structured, problem-solving mindset
  • Capacity to inspire and align a team around a shared scientific mission
