Solen Software Group is hiring a Schematic Design & Visualization Specialist to create and maintain complex schematic and geographic visualizations for mission-critical utility control rooms. This is a contract-to-hire role where you'll provide practical input into product and visualization design based on hands-on implementation experience.

What You'll Do

Create and update schematic and geographic drawings for mission-critical utility systems.
Ensure visual outputs are clean, accurate, and aligned with customer requirements.
Translate technical requirements into clear, effective visualizations.
Write, review, and edit technical documentation and supporting graphics.
Provide design feedback to product and engineering teams to improve visualization usability, consistency, and operator experience.
Contribute input on layout, visual hierarchy, and interaction patterns to support effective decision-making in operational environments.
Track labor activity and support internal reporting.
Communicate directly with customers in a professional, clear manner.

What We're Looking For

Advanced experience with Adobe Illustrator creating technical illustrations and scalable vector graphics.
Working knowledge of CAD tools like AutoCAD, MicroStation (Bentley), or similar drafting software.
Understanding of GIS fundamentals and geographic data visual representation.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word for documentation and tracking.
Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.

Nice to Have

Associate’s degree or higher in design, drafting, GIS, or a related field.
Formal coursework or training in visual design principles and spatial layout.
Experience collaborating with product, engineering, or UX teams to provide design or usability feedback.
