About the Role
The role involves deploying, maintaining, and troubleshooting ScanForm technology used in HIV program data collection. The technician will train field staff, monitor data quality, and ensure system reliability across implementation sites.
Responsibilities
- Install and configure ScanForm devices at healthcare facilities
- Provide hands-on training to field staff on data entry procedures
- Troubleshoot technical issues with hardware and software
- Conduct routine maintenance of data collection equipment
- Ensure consistent data transmission from field sites to central servers
- Monitor system performance and report anomalies
- Assist in the development of user-friendly operating guides
- Coordinate with regional teams to resolve connectivity problems
- Validate data accuracy during and after collection
- Support supervision visits to project locations
- Document technical interventions and outcomes
- Report equipment failures and recommend replacements
- Maintain inventory of deployed devices and accessories
- Respond to urgent support requests within defined timelines
- Collaborate with program staff to align technical workflows
- Ensure compliance with data security protocols
- Assist in scaling up ScanForm use to new facilities
- Participate in testing software updates before rollout
- Gather user feedback for system improvements
- Track and report on device utilization rates
- Support backup and recovery procedures for collected data
- Promote best practices in digital data handling
- Escalate complex technical issues to central support
- Maintain updated knowledge of HIV program data needs
- Contribute to periodic performance reviews of the system
Nice to Have
- Experience with Open Data Kit (ODK) or similar tools
- Prior work with PEPFAR-funded initiatives
- Certification in IT support or network administration
- Exposure to electronic medical record systems
- Training experience in low-bandwidth environments
- Knowledge of DHIS2 or other health information systems
- Field experience in rural health facilities
- Background in biomedical equipment maintenance
