About the Role
The engineer will support the full lifecycle of SCADA solutions, from design and configuration to troubleshooting and client training, ensuring systems meet technical and operational requirements.
Responsibilities
- Design and configure SCADA systems for water and wastewater facilities
- Perform field installation and commissioning of control system components
- Diagnose and resolve technical issues with remote telemetry units
- Support integration of SCADA with programmable logic controllers
- Develop system documentation including network diagrams and configuration files
- Conduct testing and validation of data acquisition and alarm functions
- Assist with cybersecurity assessments for control networks
- Provide technical support during system upgrades and migrations
- Configure human-machine interface screens for operator use
- Ensure compliance with industry standards for system reliability
- Work with clients to define operational requirements
- Troubleshoot communication issues across radio, cellular, and fiber networks
- Maintain version control for system software and firmware
- Deliver on-site and remote training to client personnel
- Respond to after-hours system outages as needed
- Collaborate with project managers on schedule and budget adherence
- Support development of project proposals and scopes of work
- Perform site surveys to assess infrastructure readiness
- Configure data historians and reporting tools
- Monitor system performance and recommend improvements
- Implement backup and recovery procedures for critical data
- Work with vendors to resolve hardware or software defects
- Ensure secure remote access configurations
- Follow change management protocols for system modifications
- Support integration with GIS and asset management platforms
