Woodard & Curran is hiring a SCADA Services Engineer

About the Role

The engineer will support the full lifecycle of SCADA solutions, from design and configuration to troubleshooting and client training, ensuring systems meet technical and operational requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Design and configure SCADA systems for water and wastewater facilities
  • Perform field installation and commissioning of control system components
  • Diagnose and resolve technical issues with remote telemetry units
  • Support integration of SCADA with programmable logic controllers
  • Develop system documentation including network diagrams and configuration files
  • Conduct testing and validation of data acquisition and alarm functions
  • Assist with cybersecurity assessments for control networks
  • Provide technical support during system upgrades and migrations
  • Configure human-machine interface screens for operator use
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards for system reliability
  • Work with clients to define operational requirements
  • Troubleshoot communication issues across radio, cellular, and fiber networks
  • Maintain version control for system software and firmware
  • Deliver on-site and remote training to client personnel
  • Respond to after-hours system outages as needed
  • Collaborate with project managers on schedule and budget adherence
  • Support development of project proposals and scopes of work
  • Perform site surveys to assess infrastructure readiness
  • Configure data historians and reporting tools
  • Monitor system performance and recommend improvements
  • Implement backup and recovery procedures for critical data
  • Work with vendors to resolve hardware or software defects
  • Ensure secure remote access configurations
  • Follow change management protocols for system modifications
  • Support integration with GIS and asset management platforms
