Responsibilities
- Manage daily SAP Basis operations across DEV, QAS, and PRD environments.
- Oversee SAP system lifecycle tasks such as startup, shutdown, parameter optimization, health monitoring, and background job oversight.
- Perform routine maintenance including log rotation, filesystem cleanup, performance analysis, and capacity forecasting.
- Carry out SAP kernel updates, apply Support Packages and Support Package Stacks, and implement SAP Notes as needed.
- Plan and execute system refreshes, client copies, and post-copy configuration tasks.
- Coordinate operating system and database patches with infrastructure teams, ensuring minimal disruption and rollback readiness.
- Administer SAP HANA systems with focus on monitoring, backup integrity, recovery procedures, and resource tuning.
- Configure and maintain HANA replication setups, high availability, and disaster recovery mechanisms.
- Troubleshoot HANA performance issues including slow queries, memory pressure, table bloat, and service failures.
- Validate HANA failover readiness and monitor replication health for DR preparedness.
- Maintain and test disaster recovery runbooks and standard operating procedures through regular drills.
- Provide administrative support for SAP Process Orchestration environments.
- Monitor system health, manage certificates, resolve performance bottlenecks, and apply patches for SAP PO.
- Handle Java stack components including J2EE engine monitoring, log analysis, and service status checks when applicable.
- Support setup and configuration of SAP Solution Manager components such as SLD and LMDB.
- Ensure effective system monitoring, EarlyWatch Alert processing, and integration with managed systems.
- Maintain technical components of Solution Manager to enable reliable alerting and monitoring coverage.
- Deliver advanced technical support for complex issues spanning ABAP, HANA, OS, and network layers.
- Conduct in-depth diagnostics using SAP transactions, HANA Cockpit, and OS-level tools.
- Enforce SLA compliance, perform root cause analysis, and document resolution steps.
Requirements
- 5 to 8 years of hands-on SAP Basis and HANA administration experience.
- Proven track record in SAP and kernel upgrades, SP/SPS application, and patch management.
- Experience managing HANA replication, high availability, disaster recovery, and failover processes.
- Demonstrated ability in performance monitoring and tuning for SAP and HANA systems.
- Familiarity with SAP Process Orchestration administration and support tasks.
- Experience configuring and operating SAP Solution Manager, including agents and system landscapes.
- Strong diagnostic skills across application, database, OS, and network layers.
- Knowledge of transport management, job scheduling, and SAP security fundamentals.
- Proficiency in Linux/Unix environments, scripting with Shell or PowerShell, and automation practices.
- Understanding of high availability clustering and storage or network infrastructure.
- Exposure to ITIL frameworks and experience in managed services settings.
