About the Role

Arrow is hiring a Sales Engineering Director (SED) to provide strategic, technical, and business leadership for our Modern Infrastructure practice. You will lead a team of Sales Engineering Managers and Sales Engineers, serving as the primary technical leader for the practice with direct customer engagement. The role requires close collaboration with other practice areas and alignment with Sales and Supplier/Vendor Management teams.

What You'll Do

  • Recruit, hire, train, develop, and mentor Sales Engineering Managers and Sales Engineers.
  • Act as an escalation point for your team and provide direct feedback and coaching.
  • Present Arrow’s sales engineering and services value to prospective customers, suppliers, partners, and internal sales and marketing teams.
  • Contribute to the formulation of Arrow strategies and technical approaches, including pre-sales planning and marketing campaigns.
  • Collaborate with aligned sales leadership to ensure teams work together to achieve assigned goals.
  • Coordinate with business leaders to hit KPI goals and optimize rebates and revenue.
  • Manage and track sales engineering engagement and strategic programs to drive revenue and margin.
  • Lead strategy and execution for the Arrow Solutions Lab as a key differentiator, driving utilization through demos, proofs of concept, and innovation.
  • Foster channel partner relationships with an emphasis on technical leadership.
  • Provide technical leadership in partner interactions, sharing practice area trends and best practices.
  • Act as a floating Sales Engineering Manager to fill in during resource conflicts.
  • Drive constant, tracked improvements within the team on a weekly, monthly, quarterly, and year-over-year basis.
  • Maintain direct sales, supplier/vendor, and partner relationships.

What We're Looking For

  • Demonstrated, successful Sales Engineering leadership experience.
  • Extensive industry experience with Modern Infrastructure vendor solutions, partner programs, and certifications (e.g., Dell, HPE, IBM, Commvault, Hitachi, Lenovo, VMware).
  • Broad industry knowledge of hybrid cloud technologies and solutions (e.g., Microsoft Azure, AWS, GCP).
  • Experience leading the development and utilization of multi-vendor technology lab environments.
  • Experience driving sales of professional, managed, and support services.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for presenting to partners, suppliers, sales teams, and direct reports.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Products, SalesForce, and other presentation tools.
  • Willingness for up to 25% travel.
  • A “whatever it takes” attitude and motivation to assist in closing deals.

Nice to Have

  • Understanding of artificial intelligence (AI).

Team & Environment

You will lead a team of Sales Engineering Managers (SEMs) and Sales Engineers, with SEMs reporting directly to you. The Sales Engineering Director reports directly to the Vice President, Sales Engineering and Services North America and has a dotted line responsibility to Sales and Supplier/Vendor Management.

This is a hybrid role. The position is open to remote employees located in US-CO-Colorado (Remote Employees).
