1-800-Flowers.com, INC. is seeking a Safety and Security Officer to ensure the protection of company assets and personnel. In this onsite role, you will monitor CCTV, access control, and dispatch systems, respond to security incidents, and enforce company policies in close collaboration with Human Resources and Legal departments.

What You'll Do

• Patrol parking lots and exterior buildings to monitor and enforce parking policies.
• Prepare all incident summaries and reports using computer programs.
• Respond to calls for assistance from various departments throughout the company.
• Investigate crimes against the corporation by gathering information from all appropriate sources.
• Respond to burglary and fire alarm calls on campus while communicating with emergency services.
• Respond and provide medical assistance to all medical emergencies and administer First Aid/CPR.
• Assist paramedics when required.

What We're Looking For

• Knowledge of public safety and security equipment, policies, procedures, and strategies.
• Knowledge of English language structure, content, spelling, composition, and grammar.
• Knowledge of mathematics including arithmetic, algebra, geometry, calculus, statistics, and their applications.
• Strong skills in active listening, critical thinking, judgment, decision making, reading comprehension, active learning, negotiation, mathematics, coordination, and teamwork.
• Abilities in oral comprehension, oral expression, speech clarity, written comprehension, problem sensitivity, written expression, deductive reasoning, inductive reasoning, dynamic flexibility, and extent flexibility.
• Self-motivated, with problem solving skills and the ability to make decisions independently.
• Must receive Company-provided vaccinations (hepatitis B).
• Ability to lift up to 25lbs.
• Ability to walk, stand, bend and twist for 8-10 hours a day.
• Ability to work in variable weather conditions including extreme heat and cold as well as in a noisy environment.
• Honest and respectful communication.
• Compliance with company attendance standards.
• FLSA status: Hourly (Non-Exempt).

Team & Environment

You will work directly with the Human Resources and Legal departments to enforce company policies and procedures.

Work Mode

This is a fully onsite position.
