Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation is looking for an Aircraft Component Repair Technician II specializing in Wheel and Brake systems. You will repair and overhaul internal and external aircraft assemblies, subassemblies, and components in accordance with our Repair Station requirements, working under moderate supervision.
What You'll Do
- Perform repairs of mechanical and electrical assemblies through removals, part replacement, fabrication, and installation using authorized maintenance data.
- Set up, maintain, and operate test equipment to perform functional and operational tests for component return to service.
- Inspect detail parts using blueprints and manuals to ensure conformity.
- Remove skins and related components on flight controls and secondary structures, locating and installing/reinstalling parts.
- Demonstrate effective repair techniques including troubleshooting, soldering, and applying protective coatings.
- Maintain all required paperwork per FAA Repair Station requirements.
- Keep a clean and orderly work area.
- Comply with all company and legislative environmental health and safety regulations.
- Lay-out, remove, fabricate, and/or install major and minor repairs to flight controls and secondary structure components.
- Fabricate and repair sheetmetal and associated mechanical parts by rolling, shrinking, stretching, braking, and riveting.
- Remove & install APUs and perform all required APU maintenance for all Gulfstream aircraft models.
- Fabricate and repair wiring, electrical assemblies, and harnesses using acceptable processes.
- Utilize training and tools to effectively troubleshoot complex electrical circuits during repair.
- Assist with training and instructing Aircraft Component Repair I Technicians.
- Resolve routine questions, referring more complex issues to higher levels.
What We're Looking For
- High School Diploma or GED
- Able to interpret blueprints, engineering documents, and use precision measuring tools.
- Proficient operation of all tools/equipment in the department, including glass bead & carboblast machines.
- Basic understanding of shop math.
- 2 years experience in Sheetmetal, hydraulic overhaul, electrical/electronic harness buildup, electrical systems troubleshooting, battery servicing, or APU removal/installation/servicing.
- Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.
