General Dynamics Information Technology (GDIT) is looking for a RHEL Systems Administrator to transform technology into opportunity by supporting mission-critical government projects for Commander, Navy Installation Command (CNIC) REVS and DLW applications. You will be responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of physical and virtual infrastructure to ensure high availability and performance.
What You'll Do
- Design, implement, and maintain physical systems including servers, storage arrays, network devices, and data centers.
- Install, configure, and maintain virtual hosts, operating systems, applications, and databases.
- Document IT infrastructure standards, processes, and procedures.
- Schedule and coordinate infrastructure maintenance outages with key stakeholders.
- Provide periodic status updates on scheduled maintenance and upgrades.
- Troubleshoot hardware, network, software, and application issues to identify bottlenecks and provide recommendations.
- Perform daily server checks and monitor system alerts/logs.
- Execute patching (ad-hoc & monthly) and password resets.
- Apply Quarterly RHEL STIGs.
- Support QA/PROD deployments and manage server/DB accounts.
- Attend LCCBs to review/approve change requests from a RHEL 8 server perspective.
- Implement changes required for C2SOC data calls.
- Troubleshoot Tier II/III Remedy tickets impacting REVS System availability and performance.
- Coordinate with SDP via IssueTrak tickets and track tasking through Jira.
- Manage REVS RHEL Servers.
- Support REVS development (Server Upgrades, Fapolicy exception management, SELinux exception Management, AIDE exception management, cron jobs).
- Participate in REVS Quarterly STIG Standups, REVS Dev Team Standups, and REVS Weekly Customer meetings.
- Participate in retrospectives and provide status reporting.
What We're Looking For
- Active Top Secret clearance
- 6 years of systems administration experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux
- Ability to maintain RHEL servers utilizing a LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP) Stack
- DoD 8570 IAT II compliant certification - Security+ CE
- BS Degree or equivalent Computer Science or IT related degree
- US Citizenship
