Skyworks is looking for a Contract RF Engineering Technician to support the characterization, validation, and troubleshooting of RF front-end modules and components in a fast-paced engineering environment. This role works closely with Test Engineers to execute test plans and maintain lab readiness.
What You'll Do
- Support engineering activities including the design, test, debug, and assembly of prototype RF modules.
- Collect bench data for RF module characterization and ATE correlation across multiple product lines.
- Perform analysis and summarize results using Excel and other in-house tools to support engineering decisions.
- Work from schematics, diagrams, test plans, and verbal instructions to execute test procedures accurately.
- Set up new RF test benches based on existing documentation or guidance from Test Engineers.
- Review and understand test automation scripts to validate test flow and identify issues.
- Optimize tester efficiency by managing the test queue and reducing idle time.
- Operate a wide range of RF and electronic test equipment, including oscilloscopes, DMMs, signal generators, spectrum analyzers, VNAs, and specialized RF fixtures.
What We're Looking For
- Associates degree or equivalent, with 2+ years of experience in RF testing, device characterization, or lab support.
- Hands-on experience with RF test equipment: multi-meter, spectrum analyzer, VNA, oscilloscope, signal generators, power meter, and power supplies.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
- Must be able to use good judgment and exhibit effective problem-solving skills.
- Experience with MS-Office and Windows OS.
Nice to Have
- Familiarity with automated test systems (ATE) and basic scripting for data collection (Python, MATLAB, or similar).
- Experience working with RF front-end modules, LNAs, PAs, filters, or antenna plexers.
- Understanding of S parameters, impedance matching, and RF measurement fundamentals.
- Ability to interpret schematics, block diagrams, and test plans.
- Hands-on experience with soldering, rework, or assembling test fixtures.
- Knowledge of calibration procedures, equipment verification, and measurement best practices.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced engineering environment.
- Prior experience working in a semiconductor lab or high-volume manufacturing test environment.
- Familiarity with ESD safety, lab cleanliness standards, and safe operating procedures.
