The Department of Consumer and Worker Protection (DCWP) is looking for a Research Scientist to join its Bureau of Environmental Planning & Analysis (BEPA). In this role, you will conduct research and analysis to support the department's green infrastructure maintenance initiatives, focusing on data-driven operational planning and evaluation.
What You'll Do
- Support geographic information system (GIS) mapping and data management for the green infrastructure maintenance program.
- Generate reports, charts, and graphs for leadership review.
- Assist senior managers with special projects, including in-depth studies of operational data and project management for major department initiatives.
- Use big data, statistical, and visualization tools to analyze complex datasets from various sources and disseminate results through written reports and presentations.
- Review and respond to data requests in a timely manner and assist with mandated and compliance reporting.
- Participate in and conduct research and development studies on green infrastructure maintenance best management practices.
- Implement data research projects to address questions posed by senior managers about green infrastructure maintenance operations.
- Work with existing and projected green infrastructure asset data and locations to make operational recommendations.
What We're Looking For
- A master's degree from an accredited college or university with a specialization in an appropriate field of physical, biological, environmental, or social science.
- At least two years of responsible full-time research experience in the appropriate field of specialization.
