Stanford University is hiring a Research Nurse 2 to play a critical role within the Clinical and Translational Research Unit (CTRU). You will apply advanced clinical judgment and organizational skills to execute, coordinate, and oversee complex clinical research studies, ensuring high-quality patient care and strict protocol adherence in a fast-paced environment.
What You'll Do
- Ensure the safety of study participants and maintain communication with their families, caregivers, and clinicians.
- Provide clinical and administrative nursing support and oversight for research trials based on your scope of practice.
- Collaborate with clinical staff, researchers, vendors, and other personnel to administer treatments and study protocols.
- Develop and manage the budget for research studies and oversee resources including funds, personnel, and equipment.
- Conduct study participant evaluations per protocol, assess adverse events, and apply triage and judgment to determine the course of action.
- Oversee and administer medications and treatments per study protocol for outpatient research participants.
- Comply with all institutional policies and guidelines and prepare and submit required documentation to sponsors and regulatory authorities.
- Supervise RN1s and non-clinical research staff as needed.
- Support sponsor investigator research.
What We're Looking For
- A Bachelor’s degree in nursing or equivalent.
- Five years of nursing experience, with preferably two years in a research setting.
- Demonstrated ability to work with research subjects of all ages and backgrounds.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to convey medical and research information.
- Ability to identify confidential and sensitive information and implement good clinical practices in all interactions.
- Ability to identify adverse reactions to study treatments and complete required protocol documentation.
- Ability to implement study protocols and perform the functions of the position with minimal supervision.
- Ability to provide work direction to research support staff.
- A demonstrated understanding of good clinical practices and regulatory compliance.
- Demonstrated experience with electronic data capture and database management.
- Current license as a California Registered Nurse.
- Current basic CPR certification.
- Fundamentals of Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Administration certification.
Nice to Have
- Oncology Nursing Society Chemotherapy/Immunotherapy certification.
- Adult Basic Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Life Support, or Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification.
- Certified Research Administrator or Clinical Research Coordinator certification.
Team & Environment
Reporting directly to the Research Nurse Manager, you will be an integral member of the CTRU nursing team.
Benefits & Compensation
- Salary range: $137,692 to $175,985 per annum.
