Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft is looking for a Research Associate to join the BMBF-funded project ‘Real-world laboratory for modern cybersecurity in research institutions’ (AIGIS-Lab). In this role, you will contribute to creating and implementing a zero-trust architecture specifically for research institutions, conducting security analyses, and evaluating architectures in real-world environments.
What You'll Do
- Collaborate on creating and implementing a zero-trust architecture for research institutions, including procurement, configuration, and evaluation.
- Conduct analyses to identify security requirements in research institutions and their IT infrastructures.
- Run test series to evaluate developed security architectures in a real environment, including evaluation and presentation of results.
- Support project management by coordinating activities and communicating with project partners.
- Prepare scientific publications and reports and present research results at conferences and workshops.
What We're Looking For
- A completed university degree (master's or diploma) in computer science, IT security, information science, or a related field.
- In-depth knowledge of cybersecurity, network security, and IT infrastructures.
- A high degree of initiative and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Very good written and spoken German and English skills.
Nice to Have
- Experience with zero-trust architectures or related security concepts.
