About the Role

Rolls-Royce is looking for a Repair Engineer (Engineering for Services Engineer) to deliver engineering solutions that achieve business life-cycle cost savings. In this role, you will create value by engineering optimized Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) methods and driving efficiencies between Rolls-Royce and the MRO network.

What You'll Do

  • Develop and maintain the Technical Package ensuring the most technically efficient, modern, flexible, and low-cost method is achieved.
  • Define and maintain technical requirements for component repair processes and ensure the component repair network meets them.
  • Ensure required Maintenance, Operational, and Overhaul Technical data meets Company Regulatory requirements, contractual and customer commitments.
  • Support Product quality assessments (e.g., First and Last Article Inspections) at manufacturing and/or overhaul facilities, including approving repair suppliers.
  • Understand product service deterioration and collate findings from MRO facilities to feed into product maturity strategy and life-cycle cost opportunities.
  • Interface between Manufacturing Engineering, MRO Bases, Service Operations, Design, and other stakeholders to provide ongoing support and identify improvements.
  • Ensure technical solutions meet agreed requirements, including returning service run components back to serviceable condition.
  • Support the setup and approval of new repair and overhaul facilities and capabilities.
  • Identify repair technology gaps.

What We're Looking For

  • Associate Degree in Engineering and 4+ years of aftermarket engine support
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with 2+ years of aftermarket engine support
  • Master’s degree in Engineering
  • PhD in Engineering
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen

Nice to Have

  • 5+ years knowledge of aftermarket maintenance, overhaul, or repair services
  • Knowledge of functionality of relevant components and systems with full consideration of the intended form, fit and function of gas turbine engines
  • Engineering experience in aerospace or automotive industry
  • Knowledge of manufacturing engineering and special processes
  • Gas turbine engine, propulsion, or electrical control system experience
  • Ability to interpret complex engineering drawings and apply practical manufacturing thinking
