Boeing is hiring an Apache AH-64E Senior Safety Engineer

About the Role

This position involves leading safety engineering efforts for the Apache AH-64E platform, including hazard analysis, safety assessments, and certification support to ensure safe and effective operation throughout the system lifecycle.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and execution of safety engineering plans for the AH-64E aircraft
  • Conduct comprehensive hazard analyses including FHA, FMEA, and CCA
  • Support airworthiness certification processes in coordination with regulatory authorities
  • Evaluate system modifications for safety impact and compliance with aviation standards
  • Collaborate with design and integration teams to resolve safety-critical issues
  • Develop and maintain safety case documentation and risk mitigation strategies
  • Ensure adherence to DO-178C, DO-254, and other applicable safety guidelines
  • Perform fault tree analysis and probabilistic risk assessments
  • Interface with government and military stakeholders on safety requirements
  • Guide safety verification and validation testing activities
  • Track and resolve safety-related discrepancies and non-conformances
  • Support operational safety reviews and field incident investigations
  • Maintain current knowledge of aviation safety regulations and best practices
  • Provide technical direction to junior engineers and cross-functional teams
  • Assist in the development of safety training materials and briefings
  • Participate in design reviews with a focus on safety integration
  • Ensure safety considerations are embedded in system upgrades and retrofits
  • Analyze field data to identify emerging safety trends
  • Support configuration management of safety-critical components
  • Contribute to accident investigation teams as a subject matter expert
  • Ensure traceability from safety requirements to system implementation
  • Develop safety performance metrics and reporting tools
  • Promote a culture of safety awareness across engineering teams
  • Integrate human factors into safety analysis for cockpit systems
  • Support emergency response planning with safety risk insights
