Kentro is hiring a Remote Business Analyst (VA ESOM)

Kentro is seeking a Remote Business Analyst to support the implementation of ServiceNow’s Hardware Asset Management (HAM) and Software Asset Management (SAM) modules for a federal client. This role drives requirements gathering, backlog management, and testing activities while working closely with project teams and stakeholders.

What You'll Do

• Conduct requirements gathering sessions for HAM/SAM, drafting user stories, acceptance criteria, and process workflows.
• Lead backlog grooming sessions, partnering with the Product Owner and technical team to maintain a prioritized backlog.
• Facilitate and support testing activities for HAM/SAM, including drafting test cases, coordinating execution, validating results, and guiding users through UAT.
• Support UAT coordination and end-user documentation in coordination with the QA/test team.
• Own the HAM/SAM story backlog and ensure alignment with technical feasibility and platform best practices.
• Collaborate directly with client stakeholders to refine and prioritize features.
• Identify gaps, risks, and impacts related to user stories, workflows, processes, and system changes.
• Ensure all user stories meet Definition of Ready (DoR) and completed work meets Definition of Done (DoD).
• Serve as a key communication link between developers and business/technical stakeholders.
• Effectively lead and operationalize meetings to deliver consensus on desired outcomes.
• Drive consistency and quality across deliverables by applying Agile best practices and continuous improvement principles.
• Collaborate with a diverse group of internal and external stakeholders, communicating effectively with all audiences.

What We're Looking For

• Must be a US Citizen or Green Card Holder.
• Must be able to obtain a Public Trust clearance.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, business management, information systems, engineering or related field (8 years of additional relevant experience may be substituted for education).
• 8+ years of experience as a Business Analyst with ServiceNow.
• Hands-on experience with ServiceNow HAM and/or SAM modules.
• Familiarity with asset lifecycle processes, license models, and IT asset governance.
• Strong understanding of Agile and hybrid frameworks as well as backlog management tools (e.g., Jira, ServiceNow Agile).
• Proficiency in user story writing, backlog management, and UAT processes.
• Excellent facilitation, documentation, and communication skills.
• Experience working in and supporting a federal agency via government contract.
• Willing and able to get a Public Trust Suitability clearance.

Nice to Have

• Certified ScrumMaster (CSM), PMI-ACP, or equivalent Agile certification.
• ServiceNow BA or HAM/SAM certifications.
• Experience with the ServiceNow Test Management and Automated Test Framework (ATF) for building, maintaining, and executing automated regression tests.
• Experience with ServiceNow Discovery, Flexera, or related asset/license tools.
• Experience creating process maps and functional documentation using tools like Lucidchart, Miro, or Visio.
