About the Role
This position is designed for individuals beginning their career in benefits administration. The specialist will work from home and help manage employee benefits processes, including data entry, customer inquiries, and regulatory compliance tasks.
Responsibilities
- Process new employee benefits enrollments accurately and on schedule
- Respond to employee questions about health, dental, and vision coverage options
- Maintain up-to-date employee records in benefits systems
- Assist with open enrollment activities each year
- Verify eligibility for benefits based on employment status and policy rules
- Support audits by preparing required documentation and reports
- Collaborate with insurance providers to resolve coverage issues
- Ensure compliance with federal and state benefits regulations
- Track changes in employee status affecting benefits
- Escalate complex cases to senior benefits coordinators
- Input data from paper and digital forms into secure databases
- Follow confidentiality protocols for sensitive employee information
- Assist in preparing educational materials for new hires
- Monitor deadlines for benefits-related filings and submissions
- Conduct routine reviews of benefits data for accuracy
- Support the implementation of new benefits programs
- Participate in team meetings and training sessions
- Use case management tools to track and resolve employee requests
- Follow standardized procedures for benefits administration
- Maintain consistent communication with HR partners
- Assist with COBRA administration tasks
- Help verify dependent eligibility documentation
- Track and report on benefits utilization metrics
- Stay current with changes in benefits policies and procedures
- Support wellness program enrollment when applicable

Part of a distributed benefits operations team reporting to a regional supervisor
Training & Onboarding
New hires receive four weeks of structured remote training covering systems, policies, and procedures. Trainees work with mentors and complete assessments before handling live cases independently.
Technology Requirements
Applicants must have a Windows-compatible computer, webcam, microphone, and stable broadband internet. Dual monitors are recommended but not required.
