Rockefeller Philanthropy Advisors is hiring a Release QA Engineer III to take ownership of the release lifecycle for a fast-moving, multi-platform product environment that includes mobile, cloud, firmware, and hardware components. You will drive improvements to release processes, manage risk, and ensure high-quality production rollouts for a cutting-edge robotics platform.
What You'll Do
- Own the full release lifecycle from planning through deployment, post-deployment, and communication, in coordination with QA, TPMs, engineering, and operations teams.
- Define and improve change management procedures, versioning strategies, and release policies to support complex software and firmware integrations.
- Develop and maintain release schedules, ensuring timely coordination across all stakeholders.
- Advocate for quality assurance readiness, including test coverage, artifacts, and documentation.
- Drive go/no-go decisions, identify risks, and develop rollback strategies.
- Manage release communications internally and externally, including release notes and incident escalations.
- Monitor progress of various releases and continuously improve visibility through dashboards and internal tools.
- Create and maintain clear, detailed release documentation for all stakeholders.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in software release, QA, or software engineering.
- Strong knowledge of Agile and DevOps release methodologies, CI/CD tools, and version control systems like Git.
- Proficient with JIRA, configuration management tools, and issue tracking systems.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment with a safety-first mindset.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Strong analytical and decision-making abilities based on data-driven insights.
Nice to Have
- Experience in robotics, automotive, or logistics industries.
- Experience with test automation.
- Experience with hardware release management.
- Experience with statistical analysis of test results.
