Oklo Inc. is hiring a Regulatory Engineer

About the Role

The engineer will help develop and maintain regulatory strategies, prepare submissions, and coordinate with internal teams to ensure compliance with nuclear safety and licensing requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare technical and regulatory documentation for submission to oversight bodies
  • Support development of safety analysis reports and licensing applications
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure design compliance with regulatory standards
  • Interpret regulatory guidelines and translate them into technical requirements
  • Track and respond to regulatory feedback and requests for additional information
  • Maintain records of regulatory correspondence and compliance activities
  • Participate in internal design reviews to assess regulatory implications
  • Assist in preparing presentations for regulatory meetings
  • Monitor changes in regulations and advise teams on necessary adaptations
  • Coordinate with external consultants and legal advisors on regulatory matters
  • Develop and update compliance matrices and traceability documents
  • Support inspection readiness and audit preparation
  • Contribute to risk assessment documentation required by regulators
  • Ensure consistency between technical data and regulatory claims
  • Help establish processes for ongoing regulatory compliance
  • Work cross-functionally to gather inputs for regulatory submittals
  • Draft responses to regulatory inquiries and information requests
  • Maintain awareness of industry best practices in nuclear regulation
  • Support the creation of test and demonstration plans acceptable to regulators
  • Assist in defining inspection and verification protocols
  • Provide input on regulatory aspects of facility design and operation
  • Track milestones in the licensing timeline
  • Help manage document control systems for regulatory records
  • Ensure timely updates to regulatory files and databases
  • Support training initiatives related to regulatory requirements

Nice to Have

  • Master's degree in engineering or related technical field
  • Direct experience with NRC licensing processes
  • Knowledge of advanced reactor design and technology
  • Experience with digital licensing or e-submissions
  • Familiarity with international regulatory standards
  • Project management experience in regulatory contexts
