AdventHealth is looking for a Registered Nurse Oncology to join our team on a part-time basis for day shifts. In this role, you will provide comprehensive patient care, focusing on assessment, care plan development, medication administration, and patient education. You'll be a key part of extending our healing ministry by caring for the whole person—body, mind, and spirit.
What You'll Do
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments evaluating physiological, psychological, developmental, sociocultural, spiritual, and lifestyle factors.
- Develop, implement, evaluate, and revise individualized care plans based on patient needs and standards of care.
- Administer medications and treatments accurately and safely, monitoring for adverse reactions.
- Educate patients and families about health conditions, treatments, medications, and self-care strategies.
- Collaborate with medical staff and ancillary departments to coordinate and optimize patient care.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of all patient care activities and outcomes.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of care plans continuously, making adjustments to improve patient health.
- Ensure compliance with infection control protocols, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Provide emotional support and therapeutic communication to patients and their families.
- Supervise and delegate care provided by members of the healthcare team.
- Engage in continuous professional development and performance improvement activities.
- Respond to code situations promptly and effectively to stabilize patients.
What We're Looking For
- Associate's of Nursing
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS)
- Fluent in English (read, verbal and written skills)
- Basic computer skills, including the ability to navigate Microsoft Windows based programs
