Advocate Health is hiring a Part-time Registered Nurse (RN) to provide high-quality patient care remotely for our clinic. In this role, you will apply the nursing process—assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation—to deliver ongoing patient care, education, and clinical support.
What You'll Do
- Use the nursing process to provide ongoing care, recognizing and responding to changes in a patient's status.
- Provide triage and consultation to patients, families, and team members according to protocol.
- Prepare and room patients for exams, obtaining vital signs and updating health information.
- Perform laboratory procedures using aseptic technique and standard precautions.
- Assist physicians with procedures and surgeries.
- Administer medications, including immunizations, antibiotics, and narcotics, under physician orders.
- Initiate, maintain, and discontinue IV therapy.
- Assess and provide basic to complex patient education and counseling on treatment and self-care.
- Perform advanced clinical tasks, such as suture removal and catheterization, under clinical supervision.
- Assist in developing and implementing staff orientation and educational activities.
- Organize and prepare exam rooms, labs, and work areas, including cleaning and stocking supplies.
- Complete routine maintenance and quality monitoring of clinic equipment.
What We're Looking For
- Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which you practice.
- Associate's Degree in Nursing.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification from the AHA, to be obtained within 6 months if required.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated ability to make critical, independent decisions.
- Strong leadership skills including delegation, organization, and team rapport.
- Proficient computer skills, including use of electronic medical records systems.
- Ability to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served.
