About the Role

Cape Cod Healthcare is hiring a Registered Nurse responsible for delivering patient care through the nursing process, maintaining thorough and accurate patient records, and acting as a key resource for staff and patients. This role is integral to our patient-centered care model.

What You'll Do

  • Utilize the nursing process to care for patients and maintain relevant, current patient records.
  • Document comprehensive assessments throughout admission, covering physical, psychological, social dimensions, and discharge plans.
  • Summarize assessment data, initiate care plans, and communicate pertinent information to allied patient care providers.
  • Assume and demonstrate proficiency in the role of charge nurse.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in Computerized Nursing Informatics systems.
  • Act as a resource person for patient care, staff orientation, and teaching.
  • Participate in at least four unit staff meetings per year, attend mandatory programs, and obtain three hours of PCAC credit annually.
  • Participate in identifying aspects of patient care, quality indicators, and evaluation of that care.
  • Adhere to safety and blood/body fluid policies and procedures.
  • Assess personal learning needs and maintain documentation of ongoing professional development.
  • Regularly update knowledge of techniques and regulations appropriate to patient age.
  • Show a willingness to serve on Nursing Committees.
  • Represent the hospital by maintaining confidentiality and presenting services in a positive manner.
  • Perform other work-related duties as assigned by your supervisor.

What We're Looking For

  • Ability to read, write, and communicate in English.
  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
  • Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
  • Basic Life Support Certification.
  • Successful passage of CCH’s Psychiatric Pharmacology exam.
  • Crisis Prevention Intervention Training within 3 months of starting the position.

Nice to Have

  • Psychiatric experience.
  • BSN.
