Cape Cod Healthcare is hiring a Registered Nurse responsible for delivering patient care through the nursing process, maintaining thorough and accurate patient records, and acting as a key resource for staff and patients. This role is integral to our patient-centered care model.
What You'll Do
- Utilize the nursing process to care for patients and maintain relevant, current patient records.
- Document comprehensive assessments throughout admission, covering physical, psychological, social dimensions, and discharge plans.
- Summarize assessment data, initiate care plans, and communicate pertinent information to allied patient care providers.
- Assume and demonstrate proficiency in the role of charge nurse.
- Demonstrate proficiency in Computerized Nursing Informatics systems.
- Act as a resource person for patient care, staff orientation, and teaching.
- Participate in at least four unit staff meetings per year, attend mandatory programs, and obtain three hours of PCAC credit annually.
- Participate in identifying aspects of patient care, quality indicators, and evaluation of that care.
- Adhere to safety and blood/body fluid policies and procedures.
- Assess personal learning needs and maintain documentation of ongoing professional development.
- Regularly update knowledge of techniques and regulations appropriate to patient age.
- Show a willingness to serve on Nursing Committees.
- Represent the hospital by maintaining confidentiality and presenting services in a positive manner.
- Perform other work-related duties as assigned by your supervisor.
What We're Looking For
- Ability to read, write, and communicate in English.
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
- Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
- Basic Life Support Certification.
- Successful passage of CCH’s Psychiatric Pharmacology exam.
- Crisis Prevention Intervention Training within 3 months of starting the position.
