Join EXUS as an R&D – Back-end Software Engineer / Technical Lead. You will be part of a multidisciplinary team driving innovation in software engineering, A.I., and data analytics for research projects in sectors like security, health, and creativity. In this fully remote role across Europe, you will lead and develop backend solutions that address everyday problems and societal challenges.
What You'll Do
- Manage technical projects, including effort allocation, task planning, and progress overview, while participating in calls and meetings.
- Define technical specifications and architecture design from user requirements, including data flows.
- Develop reusable and scalable backend services.
- Test, maintain, and improve software functionality and performance.
- Document application changes and software updates.
- Provide solutions to technical issues throughout a project’s lifecycle.
What We're Looking For
- A BSc degree in Computer Science (MSc studies will be highly appreciated).
- 2-3 years of proven experience in back-end software development.
- Solid experience as a Software Engineer with Python frameworks like Flask, Django, or FastAPI, Microservices architecture, and SQL/NoSQL databases.
- Proven competence in software engineering and design principles.
- Strong familiarity with Git, Docker, and Shell Scripting.
- Excellent verbal and written English skills.
- Strong problem-solving skills and analytical thinking.
- A team player who is self-motivated and constantly seeks new knowledge.
- Ability to travel up to 10% of working time to European destinations.
Nice to Have
- Experience in research and innovation projects, specifically in H2020 / Horizon Europe Projects.
