About the Role

Century Arms is hiring a Senior Quality Engineer to play a critical role in new product development and production. You will be responsible for establishing quality standards, developing test strategies, and ensuring our products meet the highest standards of performance and customer satisfaction.

What You'll Do

  • Apply Design Control principles to positively influence new product development efforts.
  • Actively represent the Quality Engineering function on product development teams.
  • Mentor less senior Quality Engineers and technicians.
  • Participate hands-on in early product development stages, including prototype testing.
  • Work with Product Engineers to define quality characteristics and validation criteria.
  • Ensure product development follows ISO and internal Quality System requirements.
  • Drive predictive engineering methodology with reliability and capability analysis.
  • Provide QA support to resolve problems, defects, and other issues.
  • Document test results and offer observations or improvements.
  • Support, design, develop, and enhance test processes and reporting for QA.
  • Establish quality performance metrics to proactively prevent issues.
  • Manage testing efforts across projects and tasks.
  • Mentor and provide training assistance to QA and QC staff.
  • Develop and maintain standards and methods for inspection, testing, and evaluation.
  • Investigate product quality problems, determine root cause, and implement corrective actions.
  • Perform process capability studies to increase control and decrease total quality costs.
  • Plan and oversee the analysis, inspection, design, and test of products.
  • Perform quality engineering review of design documentation for compliance.
  • Utilize test equipment such as Calipers, Micrometers, Rockwell Testers, Surface Plate, Optical Comparator, and CMM.
  • Assist in maintaining ISO 9001 compliance.
  • Work closely with manufacturing and warehouse supervisors on quality inspection requirements.
  • Lead the Century Arms Corrective Action Program.
  • Ensure the successful deployment of high-quality, repeatable products.

What We're Looking For

  • BS Degree in Quality or Mechanical Engineering.
  • A minimum of 7 years of quality engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent technical background with a track record of problem-solving and process development.
  • Clear understanding of GD&T.
  • High-level analytical skills.
  • Advanced written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong critical thinking abilities.
  • Ability to project manage.
  • Proficiency in MS Office software.
  • Detail-oriented approach.

Nice to Have

  • Experience in firearm production, tooling, and machining.
  • General knowledge of CAD and CMM software packages.
  • Experience with Master Cam, Catia V5, and Solid Works.
  • Managerial experience.
