Holtec International is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Quality Engineer I to join our team. In this role, you will be essential in supporting the implementation and maintenance of quality systems and processes, ensuring compliance with internal standards, customer specifications, and applicable industry codes.
What You'll Do
- Assist in the development and tracking of key quality metrics and reporting to management.
- Support calibration programs for inspection and test equipment.
- Review purchase orders and incoming material certifications for compliance.
- Participate in internal and external audits, surveys, and surveillances.
- Review quality records to verify acceptability and compliance.
- Support nonconformance investigations and corrective/preventive action processes.
- Collaborate with production and engineering teams to resolve quality issues and improve processes.
- Assist in training personnel on quality processes.
- Perform oversight at vendor facilities and during construction activities.
What We're Looking For
- A Bachelor’s degree and 1 year of quality assurance work; or a high school diploma and three years of quality assurance work; or five years of quality assurance work.
- Familiarity with industry codes and standards such as ASME Section III & Section VIII, ISO 9001, NQA-1, and 10CFR21.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Nice to Have
- Experience with NDE methods.
- Knowledge of dimensional inspection tools (e.g., CMM, FARO Arm).
- Training or familiarity in corrective action processes.
- Prior experience in a manufacturing facility.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and quality management software.
- Experience with procedures.
- Prior experience working in the nuclear industry.
Team & Environment
You will work closely with the Quality Manager, production teams, project managers, and suppliers.
