The Quality Assurance Engineer analyzes product and customer requirements to develop comprehensive test strategies and ensure software quality across all changes. This role collaborates closely with development and operations teams to resolve issues and enhance testing methodologies within an Agile framework. The position is located in Quincy, MA with hybrid telecommuting allowed under company policy.
Responsibilities
- Analyze product and customer requirements to design end-to-end test strategies and scenarios
- Collaborate with team members and cross-functional teams to promptly resolve customer-reported issues
- Develop, review, and execute both manual and automated test plans and test cases
- Take ownership of QA activities for specific product modules and test all software changes
- Partner with the operations team to troubleshoot and resolve production issues as needed
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of test artifacts such as test cases and test plans in the Test Case Management System
- Investigate new technologies and methodologies to enhance testing efficiency and effectiveness
Requirements
- Master’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science or a related technical field with 3 years of software QA experience, or Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with 5 years of software QA experience
- Demonstrated ability to interpret customer requirements and design effective test cases
- Experience constructing complex SQL queries to verify data mappings, default values, and transformations
- Hands-on experience using Informatica or Talend tools
- Proven track record in resolving customer-reported issues efficiently
- Experience writing, reviewing, and implementing both manual and automated test plans and test cases
- Experience leading QA efforts for product modules, including estimation and testing of all software changes
- Ability to document test artifacts such as test cases and test plans in a Test Case Management System
- Experience conducting stress testing on large-scale applications using tools like JMeter or LoadRunner
- Proficiency using standard UNIX utilities for testing and debugging
- Experience troubleshooting, debugging, and analyzing large, complex business applications and distributed systems
- Understanding of software development lifecycle, particularly within Agile environments
- Experience working with web services, REST, SOAP, XSLT, XSD, and XML
- Familiarity with UNIX, Linux, and Windows operating systems
- Knowledge of software build and release processes, including QA environment maintenance
- Experience with test automation tools and scripting
- Experience planning, strategizing, and executing regression tests with knowledge of SDLC
- Experience validating built-in or commercial reporting tools and verifying scheduled report delivery through various mechanisms

Compensation
Salary Range: $140,525 - $150,000 Annual. Eligibility for annual performance-based awards
