The QC Officer plays a key role in maintaining product integrity by conducting precise testing and evaluation of raw materials, packaging components, intermediates, and final outputs. You will verify conformance to technical specifications and regulatory benchmarks, ensuring only approved materials proceed to production or shipment.
What You'll Do
- Perform quality checks on incoming raw and packaging materials, as well as in-process and finished goods
- Release materials only after confirming compliance with defined specifications
- Analyze trends in finished product test data to support continuous improvement
- Manage calibration schedules for all laboratory instruments, including internal verification checks
- Maintain availability of reference standards, including standard panels and non-formulated (NF) samples
- Document and communicate rejection findings to the sourcing team for follow-up
- Preserve sample records to support complaint investigations
- Conduct lab experiments to replicate defects linked to customer complaints or Quality Incident Reports (QIR)
- Support Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) meetings and assist in closing quality actions
- Escalate anomalies observed during testing to the technical team
- Track and assess non-conformances identified during quality control processes
- Oversee revalidation of expired materials to determine usability
- Generate and distribute test reports to customers using standardized formats
- Uphold laboratory safety protocols and maintain 5S standards
- Ensure all measurement devices are calibrated by accredited external labs on schedule
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Polymer Science, Paint Technology, or Chemical Engineering
- Proficiency in SAP ERP systems for quality data management
- Strong written and spoken English communication skills
- Competence in Microsoft Office applications for reporting and analysis
Preferred Qualifications
- 1 to 5 years of experience in the chemical or paint manufacturing industry
- Familiarity with Quality Management Systems (QMS), internal audits, and process evaluations
- Knowledge of IATF 16949:2016 and ISO/IEC 17025:2017 standards
- Understanding of the seven basic QC tools for data interpretation
- High level of precision, attention to detail, and effective interpersonal communication
