Senior QA Engineer position within the Private Bank division at the Bucharest Excellence Centre. Responsibilities
- Analyze business and technical requirements to understand data flows and underlying business logic.
- Help develop and implement the overall Test Strategy and Test Plans, while taking responsibility for defining specific test scenarios.
- Assist in estimating testing efforts and proactively highlight potential risks.
- Design, write, and maintain Test Cases to verify data integrity, transformation rules, and reporting accuracy.
- Cover functional, integration, regression, and end-to-end testing aspects comprehensively.
- Generate and manage test data necessary for validating complex data scenarios.
- Execute testing tasks thoroughly, analyze outcomes, and document results in detail.
- Identify, troubleshoot, and log defects in JIRA, providing clear and actionable information for development teams.
- Retest defect fixes to confirm complete resolution.
- Coordinate testing efforts with internal teams, external vendors, and business users, including UAT support.
- Promote adherence to testing standards and advocate for best practices within the team.
- Organize monthly demo sessions to update stakeholders on project progress.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives in development and testing processes.
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years of software testing experience, with a focus on data-centric projects.
- Solid technical understanding of the data lifecycle in reporting contexts.
- Extensive hands-on experience testing Oracle Databases.
- Experience validating data integrity and quality by verifying accuracy, consistency, and correctness against business rules.
- Testing of database objects such as stored procedures, functions, triggers, and views to ensure correct functionality.
- Performing source-to-target validation to confirm accurate data transformation and loading into reporting tables.
- Strong ability to write complex SQL queries for data extraction, validation, comparison, and identifying anomalies.
- Proven experience working within Agile methodologies and the full Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
- In-depth knowledge of various testing techniques including Black Box, White Box, System, Integration, and Regression testing.
- Hands-on experience with test management and defect tracking tools such as HP ALM and JIRA.
- Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
- Ability to perform effectively under pressure with a practical, results-driven mindset.
- Strong teamwork, collaboration, and creative problem-solving abilities.
- Customer-focused with strong service orientation and the ability to build productive relationships with stakeholders.
