Deutsche India Private Limited, Mumbai Branch is seeking a Senior QA Engineer within its Private Bank division. You will focus on building world-class reporting solutions and ensuring data quality for core data systems and BI reports. The role involves testing complex data projects, contributing to Oracle-based reporting, and migrating to next-generation cloud data platforms.
What You'll Do
- Analyze business and technical requirements to understand data flows and business logic.
- Contribute to the creation and implementation of the overall test strategy and test plans, defining specific test scenarios.
- Contribute to test effort estimation and proactively identify risks.
- Design, write, and maintain test cases to validate data integrity, transformation logic, and reporting accuracy.
- Cover all aspects of testing including functional, integration, regression, and End-to-End.
- Create and manage test data required for complex scenarios.
- Execute testing activities, analyze, and document results in detail.
- Identify, troubleshoot, and document defects in JIRA.
- Retest corrections to ensure defects are fully resolved.
- Coordinate testing activities with internal teams, third-party vendors, and business users.
- Drive adherence to Deutsche Bank's testing standards and promote best practices.
- Organize monthly demo sessions to present project status to stakeholders.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of development and testing processes.
What We're Looking For
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in software testing with a focus on data-centric projects.
- Solid technical experience with the data lifecycle for reporting.
- Strong, hands-on experience testing Oracle Databases including data integrity/quality validation, database objects, and source-to-target validation.
- Excellent skills in writing complex SQL queries for data extraction, validation, comparison, and anomaly detection.
- Proven experience with Agile methodologies and the Software Development Lifecycle.
- Excellent knowledge of testing techniques (Black Box, White Box, System, Integration, Regression).
- Hands-on experience with test management and defect tracking tools: HP ALM and JIRA.
- Excellent communication skills in English.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure with a pragmatic and delivery-focused attitude.
- Excellent teamwork, collaboration, and innovative problem-solving skills.
- Customer and service-oriented, with ability to build effective working relationships with all stakeholders.
Nice to Have
- Experience in the financial services industry, with knowledge of Wealth Management or other financial products.
- Experience in coordinating User Acceptance Testing activities.
- An openness and desire to learn and adapt to new technologies, specifically cloud data platforms.
- An interest in or basic knowledge of test automation and related tools.
