Close is looking for a QA Engineer to help ensure the quality of our products and enhance our testing strategies. You’ll join as the second QA engineer and work closely with cross-functional product development teams in a fully distributed environment.
What You'll Do
- Help improve the quality of what we ship, reducing the amount of bugs and regressions.
- Test features as they are built and reviewed, and monitor recently shipped code for potential issues.
- Focus primarily on testing user-facing behavior and creating high-quality bug reports for our in-product UI across web, desktop, and mobile.
- Test against our API and consider ways customers might hit issues in their integrations or with Zapier.
- Help improve our automated testing practices, including unit and end-to-end testing.
- Help development teams improve their testing strategies.
What We're Looking For
- Located in the USA (lower 48 time zones).
- Senior-level candidates should have 4+ years of experience testing user-facing behavior, while Staff-level candidates should have 8+ years.
- Mid-level candidates should have around 3 years of similar experience and be eager to level up.
- Detail-oriented and thorough when writing test plans and opening high-quality bug reports.
- Deeply care about product quality and the overall user experience.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with a small, talented team.
- Able to manage your time well, communicate effectively, and collaborate in a fully distributed team.
Nice to Have
- Experience contributing to tests in JavaScript using React Testing Library, Cypress, or Playwright.
- Experience testing GraphQL and Websockets endpoints.
- Experience working in B2B SaaS, specifically on sales software.

Team & Environment
You will be the second QA Engineer, working closely with three of six cross-functional product development teams. You’ll report to the Director of Engineering (Frontend) and collaborate with another QA engineer, frontend/backend engineers, product managers, designers, and other teams.
