Practicebetter is seeking an experienced QA Automation Engineer to join our Engineering team and help take the quality of our SaaS platform to the next level. This role involves developing automated tests, conducting thorough validation, and collaborating closely within a cross-functional squad.
What You'll Do
- Develop automated tests for both new features and regression scenarios.
- Conduct functional, system integration, and regression testing against business requirements, with manual testing as needed.
- Prioritize and triage bugs reported by clients, providing actionable recommendations.
- Report defects found during testing accurately and in a timely manner.
- Track defects from discovery through resolution, validating fixes post-implementation.
- Constantly monitor and reduce the ratio of end-user-found to QA-found defects.
- Minimize QA impact on the release schedule.
- Work within a cross-functional squad alongside Frontend and Backend Engineers, a Product Manager, and a Designer.
- Contribute to requirements review and prioritization by bringing a QA perspective.
What We're Looking For
- Decent coding experience to enable efficient test automation.
- A minimum of 5 years in Quality Assurance or Software Development roles.
- Hands-on experience with Playwright for test automation.
- Proficiency in API testing and automation.
- Familiarity with issue tracking tools, preferably JIRA, and version control, preferably Git.
- Experience creating, maintaining, and executing comprehensive manual testing plans.
- Proficiency with test case management tools.
- Professional proficiency in written and spoken English.
Nice to Have
- Experience working on a SaaS platform or custom-built product.
- Experience doing QA in an agile environment with frequent releases.
- Familiarity with mobile application testing.
- Awareness of DevOps practices related to QA infrastructure, CI/CD, and deployment systems.
- Understanding of web application development concepts.
- A proactive mindset that takes ownership and looks for improvements.
