As a Senior Automation Engineer at State Street, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and reliability of the Charles River platform. You will collaborate closely with engineers, product managers, and business analysts within a Scrum team to build scalable automation solutions that support rapid and reliable software delivery.
What You'll Do
- Design and develop scalable automated test frameworks and regression suites
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure high-quality feature delivery
- Expand automation coverage across functional, integration, and system testing
- Support CI/CD pipelines and modern software delivery practices
- Identify quality risks early and drive continuous improvement in testing processes
- Contribute to shared automation libraries and testing infrastructure
- Advocate for quality engineering best practices across the development lifecycle
What We're Looking For
- Minimum 6+ years of experience in software testing within a process-driven technology environment
- Strong programming expertise in at least one modern object-oriented language such as Java, C#, JavaScript, or Python
- Hands-on experience in front-end testing using Playwright, Selenium, or similar frameworks
- Experience in back-end/API testing, including REST APIs, HTTP, and SOAP services
- Solid understanding of databases with practical SQL experience
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a strong analytical and problem-solving mindset
Nice to Have
- Proven ability to translate business requirements into comprehensive functional and technical test plans
- Experience designing and implementing automation tests for web and desktop applications
- Hands-on experience developing and executing automation test scripts across web, desktop/native applications, APIs, and batch processes
- Experience creating and maintaining test cases, scripts, and automated testing tools for multi-tier applications
- Experience with performance testing tools such as JMeter, k6, Gatling, or similar
- Experience maintaining manual and automated test libraries covering functional, integration, regression, and performance testing
- Familiarity with shell scripting languages such as PowerShell or Bash
