The QA Analyst ensures the quality, reliability, and usability of digital products by collaborating with product managers, developers, and scrum teams. This role focuses on creating test strategies, conducting manual and exploratory testing, and confirming that software meets business requirements and regulatory standards within a healthcare technology setting.
Responsibilities
- Design and carry out manual test cases for web, backend, and mobile platforms.
- Evaluate product requirements and user stories to confirm they are testable and complete.
- Build and update test plans, test cases, and associated testing documentation.
- Perform functional, regression, smoke, and exploratory testing to maintain software quality.
- Test API integrations using appropriate tools to validate system connectivity.
- Detect, record, and monitor software defects through to resolution while working with developers and product teams.
- Verify bug fixes and ensure correct implementation prior to release.
- Collaborate with product and development teams to clarify requirements and acceptance conditions.
- Take part in Agile rituals such as sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.
- Offer input on product usability, performance, and areas of potential risk.
- Support improvements in testing processes and test coverage within the QA team.
- Help uphold QA best practices and testing standards across projects.
- Ensure software complies with healthcare regulations including HIPAA and other applicable standards.
- Keep thorough records of test cases, test outcomes, and defect reports.
- Report on testing progress, identified risks, and quality metrics to stakeholders.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Minimum of two years of experience in software quality assurance, ideally in healthcare or health technology settings.
- Solid understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies.
- Hands-on experience with manual testing, test planning, and defect tracking tools.
- Proficiency with API testing tools such as Postman or similar.
- Basic SQL skills for database validation and issue troubleshooting.
- Exposure to CI/CD environments.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication abilities.
Nice to Have
- Familiarity with automation testing is beneficial.
- Knowledge of healthcare regulations such as HIPAA, FDA, and GDPR is preferred.

Compensation
The base salary range for this role is $85,000-$95,000. Final placement within the range depends on skills, experience, location, team equity, and potential for growth.
