Ann Arbor District Library is seeking a Public Library Associate focused on photography and digital media production. This one-year, part-time internship provides practical experience under the direction of the Promotions Supervisor, capturing visual content for library events, collections, and spaces, with an optional second-year extension.
What You'll Do
- Complete assigned photo and video assignments for AADL events.
- Produce visual content showcasing AADL’s collection and library spaces.
- Support special projects with photography and videography needs.
What We're Looking For
- A high school diploma, GED, six or more months of related experience, or an equivalent combination (must be 18+ unless diploma/GED obtained).
- Classwork, project experience, or training directly related to this internship.
- Ability to work successfully with diverse patrons of all ages, ethnicities, and backgrounds.
- Positive attitude and approach to problem solving, customer service, and public service.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organization and planning skills.
- A prompt and reliable attendance record.
Nice to Have
- Experience working in a public library.
- Experience contributing content into a Content Management System.
- Ability to work successfully within a complex organizational structure.
- Successful and relevant work experience in a public service setting.
Team & Environment
You will report to the Promotions Supervisor within the Communications & Marketing department.
