WSP USA Inc. is hiring a Property & Buildings Digital Advisory Lead to spearhead our methodology for embedding digital strategies into capital projects and operations. You will be the key point of contact for clients, leading multi-disciplinary pursuits for buildings, districts, and cities while shaping early-stage project definitions.
What You'll Do
- Formalize and scale WSP’s Digital Advisory methodology across sectors.
- Establish governance structures to embed Digital Advisory into core delivery processes.
- Own growth targets associated with Digital Advisory Services.
- Partner with sector leaders to increase Digital Advisory penetration in priority markets.
- Establish internal contact points and operating cadence to embed Digital Advisory in pursuit and delivery.
- Shape early-stage project definition to ensure Digital Advisory is embedded in capital planning and operational readiness.
- Act as the key client point of contact, responsible for creating and delivering the value message for potential and existing Building/District/City clients.
- Lead and support multi-disciplinary integrated building/district/city type pursuits, creating pursuit materials inclusive of project approach, scope, and fees.
- Participate in developing deliverables for building digital integration projects, including evaluation of client KPIs, integrated automation product research, information flow diagram development, and system architecture concepts.
- Provide Integrated Automation designs including converged networks for facility control systems (BMS, Energy Metering, Occupancy insights).
- Oversee OT network design engineering for WAN/LAN/WLAN, VLANs, VPNs, network security, VOIP, and related technologies.
- Ensure the network infrastructure is optimally architected and designed with implementation oversight for 3rd party vendor installations.
- Research and validate technical capabilities of potential smart building technologies applicable for client projects.
- Research and design data collection and data exchange methodologies for Integrated Automation design projects.
- Coordinate technical design solutions with client stakeholders, design teams, and vendors.
- Investigate connections between energy efficiency, real estate utilization, and occupant experience to drive business efficiency.
- Lead the creation of systems implementation design documents (Diagrams, Drawings, and Specifications).
- Attend and participate in project and client meetings.
- Lead and support internal education for WSP staff around systems integration.
- Ability to attend client or project presentations and meetings anywhere in the US and potentially abroad.
What We're Looking For
- Minimum 10+ years’ experience in Building Technology Systems and Facility Control Systems integration with a keen interest or relevant Smart Building industry experience.
- Industry recognized systems and/or Network certifications (i.e., CCNP, CCDP, JNCIA, CISSP) or ability to pursue obtaining these formal certifications within six months of hire.
- Data engineering for developing insights to optimize facility operations across control systems.
- Knowledge of digital communication technologies and protocols.
- Knowledge of facility control systems for smart buildings including master system integrator platforms.
- Strong background in converged systems design for various types and sizes of projects.
- High-level experience with network engineering standards and design best practices for enterprise networks including WAN/LAN, WLAN, Cybersecurity, VoIP and Video.
- Understanding of physical and virtual machine architectures.
- Strong working knowledge of TCP/IP layer 2 technologies and layer 3 routing technologies.
- Working knowledge of multi-tier applications and their inter-dependencies including cloud hosting and web services.
- Knowledge of information systems security concepts, standards, technologies, and system architecture.
- Knowledge of network and cyber security analysis, identification, and mitigation.
- Knowledge of the hardware vendor landscape around network, sensors and control systems.
- Ability to engage executive-level client stakeholders and align digital strategy with business objectives.
- Experience influencing cross-functional teams in matrixed organizations to embed new operating models.
- Resourceful self-starter with the ability to work productively on multiple projects simultaneously under strict deadlines.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with an emphasis on organizing and presenting design information to clients.
- Highly proficient in Microsoft 365 software applications (Teams, SharePoint, Power BI, PowerPoint, Visio, Excel).
- Ability to interact with and engage 3rd party vendors on behalf of WSP’s clients.
- Ability to conduct presentations to WSP clients.
Nice to Have
- Advanced degree with direct experience in Building Systems Engineering will count towards work experience.
- Experience in innovative design and the interdependencies between sustainability, MEP systems, and technology systems.
- Design of integrated intelligent building systems for Smart Buildings.
- Knowledge of telecommunications structured cabling systems.
- Prior experience in HVAC design, energy modeling, energy code compliance, green building certification (e.g., LEED), and onsite energy auditing.
- Prior experience with software coding, data analytics and data visualization software platforms.
- Experience in metaverse integration.
- Leveraging of AI tools in project delivery.
- Participation in industry events as a panelist, moderator, or speaker.
