Teck Resources Limited is looking for a Project Manager to play a key role in achieving successful project outcomes from the study phase through execution. Reporting to the Project Director, you will be responsible for ensuring key success factors across health and safety, environmental compliance, sustainability, schedule, cost, and quality for projects within the overall QB Program.
What You'll Do
- Be a courageous safety leader, sponsoring Teck’s values and embedding a robust health, safety, environmental, and inclusive culture.
- Provide leadership within an execution framework to ensure quality, value, and timeliness in developing and delivering project investment business cases.
- Lead projects from conceptual phase through closeout, managing stage gate planning, authoring master project documentation, and managing governance.
- Collaborate to establish detailed execution plans defining strategies, delivery models, scope, standards, and implementation systems.
- Develop and oversee project scope, control budget and schedule, and establish baselines, change management, and reporting.
- Provide oversight on multi-discipline engineering development, procurement and contracting strategies, and contractor and consultant administration.
- Provide oversight on construction methodologies, including advanced work packaging and modularisation.
- Provide oversight on pre-commissioning, commissioning, start-up, and handover to operations.
- Manage interface management, stakeholder engagement, and project communication and reporting.
- Champion integrated project delivery and the implementation of proven global top-tier technology and innovations.
- Manage project opportunity and risk profiles to enable successful execution and outcomes.
- Proactively manage and coordinate all interfaces of multi-discipline teams, internal departments, and delivery partners.
- Identify and establish value in partnerships with consultants and contractors, and manage contractual relationships.
- Develop resource plans and ensure project staffing requirements are efficiently and effectively met.
- Effectively communicate accurate project progress and influences to the business case to enable timely decision-making.
- Ensure quality assurance programs are embedded, functional, and capture lessons learned.
- Identify opportunities for the acceleration of project development timeframes while maintaining governance and regulatory requirements.
What We're Looking For
- Engineering degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of 15 years project management experience across studies and projects in the resource industry, preferably in mining.
- Strong stakeholder management, communication, interpersonal, organizational, and presentation skills.
- Hands-on with a respectful, positive, solution-focused attitude.
- Proven ability to develop and manage high-performance project teams.
- Demonstrated success in managing diverse teams of dedicated and shared resources.
- Ability to clearly articulate priorities, success factors, risks, and opportunities, and to prioritize the team’s focus on critical path activities.
- Results oriented with strong organizational, planning, and decision-making skills.
Nice to Have
- Over 10 years of progressive development in project management considered for relevant candidates.
- Professional proficiency in written and spoken English and Spanish is advantageous.
Team & Environment
Reporting to the Project Director of QB Studies and Projects Program. Significant interaction and collaboration with Teck’s executive leadership team.

This is a hybrid position located in Santiago, Chile.
