A DAY IN THE LIFE This position suits a "mid-career (8+ year experience)" professional interested in participatory design methodologies. You'll integrate with a dedicated team of committed professionals, undertaking comprehensive responsibilities including: Neighborhood-Scale and Site-Specific Reuse Planning and Design Implementing design processes for brownfield area-wide and site-specific revitalization through: 1) Comprehensive demographic and socio-economic desktop analysis, 2) Comprehensive review of previous planning efforts, 3) Thorough site/neighborhood reconnaissance, 4) Developing comprehensive inventory and analytical documentation, 5) Creating responsive reuse programs considering market research, community input, and environmental limitations, 6) Generating initial conceptual sketches, 7) Implementing participatory design methodologies, 8) Demonstrating design alternatives, 9) Incorporating iterative stakeholder feedback, 10) Finalizing illustrative conceptual drawings, 11) Compiling design content into comprehensive reports Presenting technical information to diverse audiences, ensuring transparency and promoting community involvement. Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to design effective remediation solutions compliant with regulatory standards. Evaluating redevelopment options considering zoning restrictions. Developing technical landscape construction drawings and providing construction oversight. Stakeholder and Public Engagement Promoting engagement through strategic outreach including web promotion and marketing. Facilitating communication among diverse stakeholders through multiple engagement platforms. Implementing participatory design processes integrating community perspectives. Supporting engagement documentation and follow-up activities. Project Management Managing project lifecycles including budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation. Monitoring progress, assessing risks, and implementing corrective strategies. Maintaining flexible project schedules aligned with community and regulatory timelines. Coordinating cross-functional teams across multiple offices. Leading internal and client-facing project discussions. Identifying and recommending strategic project progression.
