Rockwell Automation is hiring a Project Engineer - Metals Fabrication to drive the development and delivery of efficient, cost-effective manufacturing processes across our facilities. This senior role focuses on identifying and implementing best-fit fabrication methods, maintaining process standards, and optimizing tooling, equipment, and uptime.
What You'll Do
- Research, develop, and implement new and emerging metal fabrication technologies for applicability and cost saving potential.
- Work on complex issues varying in size and scope, requiring in-depth knowledge of product lifecycles, NPI, and manufacturing systems/process design.
- Ensure engagement with key project stakeholders, sharing knowledge based in facts and logic.
- Identify, analyze, and manage project risk.
- Oversee process governance and process change management.
- Critically evaluate key factors (e.g., costs, benefits, timeliness, and risks) and all reasonable alternatives before making decisions.
- Help translate vision of a desired future state of product manufacturing into clear priorities and practical plans.
- Consistently move problems towards resolution when encountering obstacles, uncertain conditions, or situations with no clear 'right' choice; help others do the same.
- Drive successful execution of new initiatives and projects by fulfilling individual responsibilities.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S. (We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening).
- Ability to travel up to 20% of the time.
Nice to Have
- 8+ years of experience in a related field.
- Experience in leading large manufacturing projects and developing assembly processes.
- Experience with metal stamping tooling design or process.
- Lean and Six Sigma project experience and certification.
- Engineered-to-Order process experience (or high mix, low volume).
- PMP Certified.
- Multi-lingual.
