The Project Coordinator plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth execution of electric distribution projects by serving as a central point of coordination between engineering, design, construction, and project management teams. This position supports end-to-end project delivery by maintaining schedules, tracking deliverables, facilitating communication, and ensuring compliance with safety, environmental, and client-specific requirements. The ideal candidate is highly organized, proactive, and capable of managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. While operating remotely, the role requires occasional travel to project sites across New Jersey to support field activities, site assessments, and client meetings. Success in this role contributes directly to on-time, within-budget project completion and strengthens client satisfaction through consistent coordination and follow-through.
Responsibilities
- Promote and implement safety and health programs across project teams, aligning with company and client requirements.
- Support environmental protection efforts by enforcing compliance with company policies and regulatory standards.
- Help review technical documents including specifications, drawings, contracts, and addenda to ensure alignment with client standards and constructability.
- Participate in planning and conducting project meetings to monitor schedule adherence, financial performance, and issue resolution.
- Assist in developing project schedules and tracking deliverables to support timely execution.
- Provide regular updates on engineering progress, construction status, and budget performance to project managers for internal and external reporting.
- Coordinate construction package reviews, pre-award meetings, site walk-downs, and field visits as needed.
- Serve as the primary contact for construction-related submittals and documentation under the direction of the Project Manager.
- Help identify and communicate required outages to prevent scheduling conflicts and project delays.
- Ensure necessary permits and approvals are secured for all field activities from relevant parties.
- Support the preparation of weekly project status reports.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the project management team.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, or equivalent experience in the electric utility sector.
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities.

- Experience in project coordination within the electric or gas utility industry.
- 0 to 5 years of relevant project coordination experience.

Compensation
Salary range: $60,000 - $95,000
Work Arrangement
Remote with 10-20% travel to client sites in or around New Jersey
