Brink is seeking a Site Reliability Engineer to join our Product Operations division. This role is critical for propelling our business forward by building and maintaining reliable, secure, and scalable infrastructure and services. You'll focus on data security, compliance, automation, performance, and incident management.
What You'll Do
- Protect systems from data breaches and ensure compliance with PCI-DSS, HIPAA, SOC2, and other policies.
- Build and maintain reliable infrastructure and security services using Azure/AWS/GCP native services and tools.
- Perform basic system administration tasks like configuring servers, setting up HA/DR, and automating routine tasks.
- Develop and maintain automation frameworks and tools, championing infrastructure as code (IaC) principles.
- Analyze system performance, implement tuning strategies, and perform capacity planning and forecasting.
- Design and implement comprehensive monitoring and observability solutions.
- Participate in incident management processes and conduct postmortem reviews.
- Serve on the on-call team, troubleshooting and resolving service incidents.
- Work collaboratively with agile software development teams, QA, and technical support.
- Provision new customer accounts and coordinate complex orders with Sales/Professional Services.
- Implement automated high-availability deployments and understand end-to-end solution architecture.
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience as a Site Reliability Engineer in a production capacity.
- Experience operating infrastructure as code and developing services/automation.
- Systematic problem-solving approach with strong communication skills and a sense of ownership.
- Strong understanding of Windows, Linux, automation tools (Terraform, Ansible, Chef, Puppet), Azure/AWS services, and scripting languages (Shell, Python, PowerShell).
- Knowledge of databases (Azure SQL, Postgres/RDS, Graph databases), Service Mesh (Linkerd, Envoy), API gateways, and authentication services.
- Proficient in managing containerized environments using Kubernetes, Docker, and Rancher.
- Familiarity with security concepts (cloud authentication, authorization, web attacks) and network concepts (TCP/IP, HTTP, TLS).
- Experience with cloud-hosted apps/services (Azure/AWS preferred).
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Proven ability to adhere to change control policies and operational best practices.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences.
- Willingness to be flexible in responding to customer issues.
- Experience with PCI, HIPAA, and SOC2 compliance.
- Must be willing to work in US time zone [4:30 PM to 1:30AM IST].
