Mass General Brigham Community Physicians, Inc. is hiring a Program Counselor to play a vital role in our children's camp program. In this position, you will support and facilitate a variety of indoor and outdoor activities, ensuring a safe, fun environment for campers while serving as a positive role model. You will be the daily point of contact for parents and guardians, keeping them informed about their child's experience.
What You'll Do
- Support and facilitate large and small group camp activities, including imaginative play, sports, games, outdoor education, and arts and crafts.
- Plan, lead, and actively participate in a diverse range of indoor and outdoor camp programming.
- Create a consistently fun and safe environment for all children.
- Continuously assess the safety of camp spaces and equipment, reporting any issues promptly.
- Communicate with parents and guardians daily about their child's afternoon activities.
- Provide accurate information to families about ongoing and upcoming youth programs, aquatics, and supervised sports.
- Distribute and collect necessary paperwork or notifications for parents and guardians.
What We're Looking For
- A High School Diploma or Equivalent is preferred; relevant experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Heart Saver CPR AED certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) is required.
- Valid First Aid Certification is required.
- 1-2 years of previous experience supervising children.
- Strong customer service and exemplary interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Ability to relate to and communicate clearly with peer groups, parents, and campers.
- Must be friendly, outgoing, and enthusiastic about children's programming.
- Must possess effective time and organizational skills.
Benefits & Compensation
- Compensation range: $17.71 - $24.40 per hour.
