Purdue University’s School of Health Sciences is hiring a Clinical Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor to lead its Medical Laboratory Sciences (MLS) program. This 12-month, non-tenure-track clinical faculty position focuses on teaching excellence and program leadership, serving undergraduate students in MLS and Biomedical Health Sciences.
What You'll Do
- Teach undergraduate courses and develop new curriculum for Medical Laboratory Sciences and Biomedical Health Sciences programs.
- Demonstrate teaching excellence through innovative pedagogy, mentoring, and curriculum development.
- Advance the scholarship of learning within the discipline.
- Serve on faculty committees within the School.
- Provide leadership as Director of the Medical Laboratory Sciences program, including strategic planning and exploring accreditation.
- Oversee daily program operations, coordinate clinical placements, and maintain partnerships with clinical laboratories.
- Support student recruitment and retention, advise students, and assist with undergraduate course scheduling.
- Collaborate with faculty, staff, and external stakeholders to align curriculum with professional standards.
- Contribute to scholarly innovation in curriculum and instruction.
What We're Looking For
- A Master’s degree in Medical Laboratory Sciences or a related biomedical health sciences field by the time of employment.
Nice to Have
- A Doctoral or Ph.D. degree in a related field.
- National or equivalent international clinical certification in medical or clinical laboratory sciences.
- A minimum of three years of clinical experience.
- Prior academic leadership experience.
- Familiarity with accreditation standards.
- Demonstrated excellence in teaching and program development.
- Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
- A commitment to student success and professional preparation.
