Dallas Baptist University is hiring a Professor of Mathematics to join the College of Natural Sciences and Mathematics. In this role, you will deliver high-quality instruction, foster a positive learning environment, and thoughtfully integrate Christian faith into the curriculum, with the overarching goal of preparing students comprehensively in Mathematics while nurturing their spiritual growth.
What You'll Do
- Teach a 12-15 hour course load each long semester and additional courses during Summer and Winter terms, totaling 30 credit hours during the academic year.
- Meet classes at appointed times and for specified contact hours in assigned classrooms.
- Maintain at least ten (10) regularly scheduled office hours each week.
- Provide effective advising and mentoring to assigned students.
- Spiritually mentor and care for students, seeing the role as a ministry.
- Carefully and thoughtfully integrate the Christian faith into subject matter.
- Participate in department and college meetings and collaborate with colleagues for curriculum development.
- Serve on various university and college-appointed committees.
- Participate annually in various forms of professional development.
- Attend all meetings of the Faculty Council.
- Support all commencement services, appearing in appropriate academic regalia.
- Follow reporting responsibilities such as grade reporting, Annual Reports, and accreditation reports.
- Work with deans and department chairs in all matters related to teaching assignments and duties.
What We're Looking For
- Must be an active member of a local Baptist church.
- Exceptionally qualified candidates with a Master’s degree in Mathematics who have completed doctoral-level coursework and possess significant undergraduate teaching experience will be considered.
Nice to Have
- An earned Doctorate in Mathematics is preferred.

You will report to the Dean of the College of Natural Sciences and Mathematics and/or the Mathematics Department Chair.
