Celestica is hiring a Production Technical Operator to perform moderately complex tasks in a dynamic manufacturing environment in Richardson, Texas. In this role, you will work under general supervision, receiving general instructions on new assignments while making recommendations and resolving problems. You may also demonstrate work methods to new employees.
What You'll Do
- Perform manual assembly, operation of automated assembly equipment, hand soldering, operation of automated test equipment, and inspection and repair of products.
- Perform machine and line setups, feeder repairs, and first line preventative maintenance.
What We're Looking For
- Three to five years of relevant experience.
- A high school diploma and additional courses after high school, or an equivalent combination of education and experience and a commitment towards further education.
- Must possess specific certifications as defined by site operations.
- In-depth knowledge and understanding of board assembly process and product process flow.
- In-depth knowledge of product quality, soldering specifications and SMT processing systems.
- Ability to set up, operate, calibrate and maintain assembly and hand soldering equipment and tools.
- Ability to recognize problems in the assembly process or with assembly components and to address those problems.
- Ability to communicate effectively with a wide variety of internal and external customers.
- Ability to work effectively with team members and lead the team to high quality production within tight deadlines.
- Knowledge of in-circuit and functional test fixturing.
- Knowledge of computer applications and the ability to accurately perform tasks in some or all of the following applications: Word, Lotus Notes, Excel and Documentation control systems.
- More advanced manufacturing systems knowledge.
Team & Environment
You will work under general supervision. Situations not covered by standard processes, procedures and methods are referred to an expert resource.
