About the Role

A. O. Smith Corp. is looking for a Product Lifecycle Management Analyst to play a key role in enhancing our PLM systems and processes. You will ensure accurate product data and efficient workflows across engineering, manufacturing, IT, and supply chain teams through hands-on support and process improvement.

What You'll Do

  • Configure, maintain, and support PLM systems like SAP PLM, ECTR, DMS, CenitConnect APM, and SOLIDWORKS.
  • Assist in PLM and ERP upgrades, integrations, and deployment projects.
  • Analyze PLM workflows and recommend process enhancements.
  • Support standardization of data structures, naming conventions, and lifecycle governance practices.
  • Support and manage Engineering Change Orders (ECOs), ensuring accurate documentation, timely approvals, and effective communication.
  • Participate in defining and refining change management policies and configuration standards.
  • Ensure alignment with compliance requirements and product traceability standards.
  • Partner with engineering, IT, and product development teams to drive adoption of PLM best practices.
  • Provide user training, create documentation, and serve as a point of contact for day-to-day PLM support.
  • Conduct regular audits to ensure accuracy, security, and accessibility of product data.
  • Support product data governance initiatives and lifecycle management standards.

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in PLM administration, engineering services, or a related technical role.
  • 3 to 5 years of related work experience, including leading smaller projects or process improvements and mentoring junior staff.
  • Strong knowledge of CAD systems (e.g., SOLIDWORKS, Inventor, AutoCAD) and their integration with PLM.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Effective communication skills to collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Nice to Have

  • Advanced proficiency with PLM tools; SAP PLM and ECTR experience is strongly preferred.
