A. O. Smith Corp. is hiring a Product Lifecycle Management Analyst

Support and optimize PLM systems and processes to ensure accurate product data and efficient workflows across engineering, manufacturing, IT, and supply chain functions as part of a global digital transformation initiative.

Responsibilities

  • Configure, maintain, and provide technical support for PLM platforms including SAP PLM, ECTR, DMS, CenitConnect APM, and SOLIDWORKS.
  • Assist in the execution of PLM and ERP system upgrades, integrations, and deployment initiatives.
  • Evaluate existing PLM workflows and propose improvements to increase efficiency and compliance.
  • Establish and enforce standardized data structures, naming conventions, and lifecycle governance protocols.
  • Manage Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) to ensure proper documentation, timely approvals, and cross-functional communication.
  • Collaborate with engineering, IT, and product development teams to promote consistent use of PLM best practices.
  • Conduct regular audits to verify the integrity, security, and accessibility of product data.
  • Support data governance and lifecycle management standards across global operations.
  • Contribute to the development and refinement of change management policies and configuration standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Minimum of three years of experience in PLM administration, engineering services, or a comparable technical role.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational abilities.
  • Excellent communication and facilitation skills with the ability to work across functional teams.

Nice to Have

  • 3–5 years of experience leading process improvement projects or mentoring junior team members.
  • Advanced experience with PLM systems, particularly SAP PLM and ECTR.
  • Proficiency in CAD tools such as SOLIDWORKS, Inventor, and AutoCAD, including integration with PLM environments.
