GitBook is looking for a Product Designer who embodies a high-quality bar and brings a systems-thinking mindset. You'll help shape our product from early concepts to pixel-perfect screens, from design systems to front-end polish.
What You'll Do
- Take full ownership of the visual and interaction design across GitBook’s product.
- Work hand-in-hand with Product, Engineering, and Marketing: from idea to execution.
- Contribute directly to the implementation of UI in our codebase (React, TypeScript, CSS).
- Evolve and maintain GitBook’s Design System—ensuring visual consistency and a cohesive user experience.
- Translate insights and feedback into delightful, user-centered design decisions.
- Craft high-quality prototypes to explore and validate ideas.
- Partner with engineers to build polished, production-quality components and features.
What We're Looking For
- 3+ years of experience in UI/UX or Product Design in product-led teams.
- A portfolio that demonstrates high-quality product thinking and strong visual execution.
- Experience working with or contributing to a Design System.
- Strong communication skills: you can clearly explain your design rationale to non-designers.
- Comfortable writing HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
Nice to Have
- Experience with React is a strong bonus.
