About the Role

TE Connectivity is looking for a Process Development Senior Engineer (Assembly) to lead our manufacturing process design and implementation. In this role, you will be responsible for the end-to-end connector manufacturing process, from raw material to final assemblies, focusing on maximizing throughput and optimizing efficiency.

What You'll Do

  • Own the overall manufacturing process, guiding the team to develop the most manufacturable and cost-effective solutions.
  • Perform concept design and proofing for assembly processes and tooling, including conducting Process Development DOEs.
  • Act as a technical leader and troubleshooter from low-volume to high-volume manufacturing in process development, tooling qualification, and problem-solving.
  • Drive platforming manufacturing process development initiatives.
  • Provide detailed process definitions and requirements to the automation team for Auto MC development.
  • Challenge product design for manufacturability and cost feasibility.
  • Launch products at rate using FACA/QCPA tools, focusing on yield, CPK, and OEE metrics.
  • Launch products on time while working with a cross-functional team.
  • Create comprehensive process documentation, including DFMs, FMEAs, work instructions, and FACA/QCPC reports.

What We're Looking For

  • A Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in connector assembly process development or automation development.
  • Strong, data-oriented issue finding and problem-solving skills.
  • Sensitivity to product cost and knowledge of how to drive cost reduction through manufacturing process development and design optimization.
  • Fluency in using process development tools like DFM, PFMEA, DOE, FAA, CTAR, CAD, and Pro E.
  • Knowledge of quality control principles and quality issue analysis and improvement.
  • Good teamwork and communication skills.
  • Fluent written and spoken English.
