TensorOps is hiring a Principal UX Strategist – Consumer Web Experiences to lead end-to-end user experience strategy for large-scale, consumer-facing web ecosystems. You will translate business objectives, customer insights, and technical constraints into intuitive and accessible experiences for a global audience.
What You'll Do
- Define and evolve the holistic UX vision, principles, and north-star experiences for consumer-facing web products.
- Lead the end-to-end redesign of complex web journeys, targeting measurable outcomes like improved conversion and reduced drop-off.
- Analyze user needs and technical feasibility to recommend effective UX approaches within timelines and budgets.
- Conduct competitive research, heuristic reviews, and user studies to identify opportunities and pain points.
- Create journey maps, personas, and frameworks that connect user behavior to business impact.
- Establish measurable UX success criteria and use data to guide decisions and validate hypotheses.
- Advocate for accessible, scalable, performant, and user-centered experiences across digital surfaces.
- Research and model how users navigate and consume content across web platforms.
- Create and maintain sitemaps, user flows, taxonomy frameworks, metadata structures, and navigation models.
- Ensure content hierarchy and IA decisions support discoverability and ease of use.
- Lead creation or evolution of enterprise-level design systems, including tokens, components, and accessibility standards.
- Partner with engineering to implement scalable frameworks and enforce consistency through tools like Storybook, linters, and governance.
- Establish usage guidelines, adoption plans, and success metrics for system maturity.
- Collaborate with engineering, analytics, product, content, and marketing teams to ensure cohesive experiences.
- Present UX strategies and research findings to senior leadership audiences.
- Influence roadmaps and business decisions by introducing clarity, frameworks, and data-backed reasoning.
- Navigate executive pushback using customer insights and UX principles.
- Define standards for accessibility (WCAG), performance, usability, and content quality.
- Build and maintain UX governance assets such as guidelines, playbooks, and pattern libraries.
- Partner with operations and vendor management to ensure external partners align with UX standards.
- Educate non-UX stakeholders on modern UX best practices and the value of customer-centered design.
- Communicate design decisions with strong storytelling, clarity, and principled reasoning.
- Provide an informed point of view on what constitutes quality for large-scale consumer web experiences.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Computer Science, Design, or a related technical field.
- 10+ years of UX/UI design experience for web-based digital products.
- Proven success leading end-to-end redesigns of complex journeys with measurable improvements.
- Strong expertise in: User research, Information architecture, Design systems and component frameworks, Responsive UI patterns.
- Experience collaborating in cross-functional environments with product, engineering, analytics, and content teams.
- Strong communication, storytelling, and leadership skills—especially when influencing senior audiences.
- Ability to translate complex requirements into clear, simple, elegant interface designs.
- Track record of sustained ownership of a major product, journey, or surface for multiple years.
Nice to Have
- Experience designing for large-scale consumer web ecosystems or multi-locale digital platforms.
- Familiarity with AI-powered UX patterns (personalization, conversational interactions, intelligent recommendations).
- Experience conducting A/B tests and working with experimentation or UX measurement frameworks.
- Expertise in accessibility standards (WCAG), performance optimization, and content strategy.
- Experience contributing to or building enterprise-level design systems.
- Background in front-end development or prototyping using HTML/CSS/JavaScript or equivalent tools.
- Experience with consumer tech, hardware platforms, or multi-region sites with complex content and scalability requirements.
