The Hartford is seeking a Principal Security Architect for GenAI and Emerging Technologies to set security direction and requirements for the company's secure use of AI and Generative AI capabilities. Reporting directly to the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO), you will lead the evaluation, recommendation, and implementation of new and emerging security capabilities while partnering with technology leaders across the organization.
What You'll Do
- Partner with key stakeholders and technology partners to provide leadership direction and support for GenAI priorities, balancing security with business imperatives.
- Design and develop architectures, frameworks, and requirements for the secure consumption of AI/GenAI capabilities across various patterns and usages.
- Perform threat modelling and risk assessments against GenAI use cases, recommend security requirements, and monitor adherence.
- Work with development teams, data scientists, and security professionals to design and implement security measures protecting AI models against threats.
- Represent the organization in leadership discussions, risk governance councils, and various AI/GenAI working teams.
- Lead cybersecurity team efforts to continuously monitor, assess, and evaluate emerging security technologies.
What We're Looking For
- 5+ years experience as a security professional with a focus on Security Architecture responsibilities.
- Experience designing and deploying robust cloud security architectures for AI/ML workloads across AWS and Google Cloud.
- Proven expertise in securing Generative AI systems, with successful implementation of AI security frameworks.
- Hands-on experience leading AI/ML initiatives using large language models (LLMs) and platforms such as GCP Vertex AI, AWS Bedrock, SageMaker, ChatGPT, etc.
- Deep knowledge of securing AI applications and platform products across major cloud providers (AWS, GCP, Microsoft Azure) and enterprise-grade LLMs.
- Subject matter expert in identifying and mitigating AI-specific attack surfaces and threats.
- Demonstrated ability to lead the development and execution of comprehensive AI/ML security strategies.
- Candidate must be authorized to work in the US without company sponsorship.
Nice to Have
- Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), and/or Cloud and AI-specific certifications.

Benefits & Compensation
- Salary range: $149,360 - $224,040
